Slide Show for 3rd Annual Healthy Choices Event

The Missouri City Chapter of The Links, in collaboration with Aspiring Youth, sponsored the 3rd annual “Healthy Choices” on May 19th. The day long program started with a power breakfast in the Martin Luther King Building of Texas Southern University and an introduction to the Mistresses of Ceremonies: Gina Gaston (KTRK-ABC 13 Television) and Melinda Spaulding (KRIV Fox 26 Television). |
The students then viewed five Role-Play Dramatic Interpretations performed by different members from Ensemble Young Performer that covered issues from Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Teen Obesity, “Hip-Hop” culture, Self Esteem, Depression, and Alcohol and Drug Abuse. These activities are designed for the students to make healthy choices in their lives and steer clear of the negative influences affecting many of their peers. |
