On April 5th, the Aspiring Youth students of Jane Long Middle School and the "League of United Latin American Citizens" raised $621 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. |

On April 6th, Toya Shepherd taught etiquette to the Aspiring Youth girls at Jane Long Middle School. They learned about personal hygiene and first impressions as young women. Nicole Willis, a social worker at Jane Long Middle School, collaborates with Aspiring Youth for these special events. |

On April 27th, the induction of new National Junior Honor Society members took place at Marshall Middle School. The Aspiring Youth students were the officers that presided over the induction of the new members and many of the new inductees are Aspiring Youth students. |

The “Map to Success” is an annual art contest that allows the Aspiring Youth students to draw their interpretation of success and how to get to this path of success. First, second and third place went to Marshall Middle School with Target Hunger receiving an Honorable Mention. Below are the winners: |

Aspiring Youth Leadership Team Visits Texas A & M |

The Aspiring Youth Leadership Group from Marshall Middle School took a trip to College Station, TX to visit and tour Texas A & M University. The students were able to learn about college life and the Aggie campus up close and personal. The students met and mingled with current college students, ate lunch on campus and even stepped onto the football field (something many alumni never get the chance to do). |

Aspiring Youth's mission is to prepare at-risk youth to aspire to and attain their highest degree of success in school and in life. To fulfill our mission, Aspiring Youth focuses on the middle school years when children are transforming from childhood to teenagers. The choices made during the pre-teen years are the foundation for each student's future success. Aspiring Youth supports the following events: |

Kroger Food Stores will also donate 1% of your grocery purchases if you use the Aspiring Youth Kroger card with your purchases (please let us know if you would like for us to send you a card to use at Kroger). Donations to Aspiring Youth® are tax deductible to the extent allowed for 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.
